Paninis for dinner? I am making a Reuben Dip for work tomorrow so I bought everything I needed for it. I plan on using the following: Corned Beef Swiss Cheese Thousand Island dressing Sourdough Bread Maybe sauerkraut (I personally can't stand the stuff but my husband wants it) So my question is: How long should I cook it on the press for? Is there a certain temp I should use? Oh and if anyone wants a delicious recipe for a Ruben dip feel free to e-mail me!
Panini Machine Electrical Conversion? Convert the machine or install a 220v outlet ? We got a really great deal for our lunch outlet - a panini [pressed sandwiches] machine. But, it is wired for a 220v outlet and all out outlets in a commercial kitchen are house current with ground. Is it smarter to take the machine to an electrician and hope he can fix it? Or, invest in wiring in the kitchen? We expect to do 30-40 sandwiches per lunch hour.

which menu would you prefer for a Saturday luch? So I have some family coming over for a Saturday lunch. The guests include my grandparents, parents, brother (18), and cousins (ages 16, 11, and 6)... Menu #1. Mexican/American ~Nacho Soup( I take nacho cheese and mix it with chicken broth add black beans, diced red bell pepper, corn kernels, cilantro, and lime juice and garnish with a flour tortilla cut into thin strips) ~Green Salad w/ ranch ~Steak Fajitas (flour tortillas with marinated steak sautéed with sweet peppers and onions, served with sliced avocado) ~Rice Pudding ~Horchata (a drink made with cinnamon, almonds, cream, rice and water) ~Fruit Punch ~Coffee OR Menu #2. Italian ~Chicken Caesar Salad (with homemade Caesar dressing) ~Sausage and Tomato Soup ~Panini (pressed sandwiches) ~Tiramisu (homemade) ~Caramelized Pears ~Italian Cream Sodas ~Coffee I think the kids would appreciate the bold flavors of Menu #1 where as the adults would prefer the subtle flavors of Menu #2. And I can’t decide, I love both menus… thanks!
Any ideas on where to find a bread slicer/cutter on-line for home use? I just got the Cuisinart Griddler Panini press and really would like to make something using fresh bread but it's always SO hard to cut just part of a loaf and to cut it nicely. Flattened chicken breast...? I live in Miami and most of the latin restaurants serve this flattened breast cooked on a griddle/grill with black beans and rice. I have been using a meat tenderizing hammer to flatten my chicken breast but I'm curious. Is there a cooking tool, sort of like the press used to make cuban sandwiches or panini sandwiches, sold in stores that can be used to flatten & grill the breast instead of beating the heck out of it? If not, what are other alternatives to flattening the chicken. Beating it is such a mess!
Does anybody know where I can find an Instant baker? I saw one on TV a few weeks ago, Its almost like a panini press except its a little oven that has cups that you pour biscuit mix or muffin mix in, close it, and a few minutes later you have perfect biscuits or muffins or whatever. I really want to find this.
