Panini origin?
I had the most delicious vegetarian sandwich at a cafe today. It was called 'veganini panini.' I am curious of the origin of this type of sandwich. What type of cuisine is it?

- Italian? I love them.
- dont have a clue...sorry
- Panini translated from Italian to English means "Little loaf of bread" Veganini is just a stylized word to match the style of the word Panini Made to please Vegans a category of Vegeterians or vegetarian cuisine In Europe, in my heritage country anyways, its nothing new to make a "sandwich", usually open-faced sandwich, with butter and tomato slices and maybe a bit of chives. Maybe the place you got it is re-inventing and enhancing this concept, which north-americans might not be familiar with. It can be surprisingly tasty.
