What is the difference between focaccia and panini bread?

- I don't know but if I remember what I ate that one time, panini is the best ^^
- panini bread is just dry white bread in a long roll shape that you toast with stuff in it. Foccacia is a bigger loaf type bread that is more oily (olive oil i think) and has herbs in it. You would have that as a side to a meal whereas the panini would be a snack sandwich type thing!
- Focaccia From Wikipedia Focaccia (pronounced foh-KAH-cha) is a flat bread topped with spices and other products, which is related to modern pizza. The basic recipe is thought by some to have originated with the Etruscans or ancient Greeks. It is quite popular in Italy and is usually seasoned with olive oil and herbs, topped with cheese and meat or flavored with a number of vegetables. Focaccia doughs are similar in style and texture to pizza doughs consisting of high-gluten flour, oil, water, sugar, salt and yeast. Focaccia is used extensively as a sandwich bread. Focaccia is typically rolled out or pressed by hand into a thick layer of dough and then baked in a stone-bottom or hearth oven. Bakers often puncture the bread with a knife to relieve bubbling on the surface of the bread. Large bubbles may ruin Focaccia as it creates a "pocket" of air and renders the bread useless for sandwiches. Focaccia can be used as a side to many meals, as a base for pizza or as sandwich bread. ***************************************************** Panino A panino is a toasted sandwich made from a small loaf of bread, typically a ciabatta. The loaf is often cut horizontally and filled with salami, ham, meat, cheese or other food, and served hot. The word is Italian, with plural panini, although panini is often used in a singular sense by other languages that borrow the word, including English and French. "Panini" is also a brand of grill made specifically for grilling these sandwiches. In Italian, panino refers variously to a bread roll and a sandwich, and a paninoteca is a sandwich bar.
- focaccia bread normally has tomatoes, peppers, cheese and other stuff on it, kinda like a pizza...its also puffy... whereas panini bread is flat and doesnt have extra toppings
- Basically the difference is one looks like a plane bread (focaccia) it is to be taken with the vianger and balsamic oil. Panini is like the Subway bread for a regular sandwich. Panini (Panino singular) A sandwich is a food item typically consisting of two pieces of bread between which are laid one or more layers of meat, vegetable, cheese, or other fillings, together with optional or traditionally provided condiments, sauces, and other accompaniments. The bread is often either lightly buttered, covered in a flavoured oil when baked, or oil is added into the sandwich to enhance flavour and texture. Sandwiches are commonly carried to work or school in lunchboxes or brown paper bags (in sandwich bags) to be eaten as the midday meal, taken on picnics, hiking trips, or other outings. They are also served in many restaurants as entrées, and are sometimes eaten at home, either as a quick meal or as part of a larger meal. As part of a full meal sandwiches are traditionally accompanied with such side dishes as a serving of soup (soup-and-sandwich), a salad (salad-and-sandwich), or potato chips and a pickle or coleslaw.
