Problems with cleaning a commercial panini press?

at my job we have a panini press it is getting really dirty and i cant figure out an easy way to clean it without taking an hour please help

1. My dad just puts the little plates in the dishwasher. Try using PAM before you place the sandwich on because it might allow you to handwash it without any trouble
2. I plug it in and turn it on for a minute with nothing inside that way the grease and stuff loosens up then i wipe it off being careful not to burn your hands with a wet towel. since it is hot still it dries right away.
3. You could either use up lunch hour or ask you boss permission to come earlier or after working hours to clean up!
