Best Panini Maker

Can I make crepes in a panini maker? (with the lid up)?

I would think you can make crepes anywhere... it's just easier on a crepe maker. Is there anything specific that would be needed to make crepes? Would it be better on a pan on the stove vs. a panini maker? My panini maker doesn't have any grill lines. It's this one: http://www.amazon.com/Breville-SG820XL-Maxi-Panini-Press/dp/B00008ZCKO/ref=sr_1_7/104-5667176-8248749?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1191809957&sr=8-7

  1. if its big enough U may be able to pull it off.....they actually heat more evenly than your ordinary pan on stovetop
  2. I always suggest using a high quality 14" Saute pan, Non stick of coarse. This will give you the best crepe and you shouldn't even have to use a spatula if you use a med-heat and a lite Spray or cooking oil.
  3. Go ahead, give it a try.
  4. What kind of a panini maker do u have? Is it a wolfgang puck one? You might be able to if u use the flat plates not the grill like plates? Tell me what panini u have: holly_bossart1@yahoo.com
  5. yes you can but IT'S SO HARD TO MAKE A GOOD CREPE ON IT... try my method. I always make crepes at home w/o using crepe maker. what i use at home is my NON-STICK FRYING PAN. swirl the creme batter on the non-stick frying pan to cover the whole pan.... and continue cooking. then put some filling & toppings ... happy eating.
