Best Panini Maker

is it safe to put a foil wrapped brick in the oven?

I'm making a make-shift panini press and I was wondering if it's ok to put a brick in a 425 degree oven to heat it up? haha GREAT answer james!

  1. Yes... you should be fine... Just make sure the brick is dry or hasn't been out in the rain. The brick may have absorbed moisture and crack.
  2. i don't think so
  3. Absolutely, and it should work great.

  5. yes
  6. Yes, it will be fine. Make sure it is well wrapped. A clean, unused, unpainted brick would be the best, but if you wash it well and dry it and wrap it well you will be ok. Don't use a painted brick because any fumes or residue from the paint will be bad.
  7. yes it is i saw it on the food channel on the show good eats, by alton brown he used it to compress some foods
  8. sure why not as long as the brick is completely dry and doesnt have any residue on it you should be fine
