is it safe to put a foil wrapped brick in the oven?
I'm making a make-shift panini press and I was wondering if it's ok to put a brick in a 425 degree oven to heat it up? haha GREAT answer james!

- Yes... you should be fine... Just make sure the brick is dry or hasn't been out in the rain. The brick may have absorbed moisture and crack.
- i don't think so
- Absolutely, and it should work great.
- My wife does it all the time..she calls it meatloaf.......lol
- yes
- Yes, it will be fine. Make sure it is well wrapped. A clean, unused, unpainted brick would be the best, but if you wash it well and dry it and wrap it well you will be ok. Don't use a painted brick because any fumes or residue from the paint will be bad.
- yes it is i saw it on the food channel on the show good eats, by alton brown he used it to compress some foods
- sure why not as long as the brick is completely dry and doesnt have any residue on it you should be fine
