  1. I would think to use wheat. Yes, I think getting a portabello mushroom on wheat sandwhich would work. Hope I was of some help. =]
  2. Foccacia bread has a high oil content and is high in fat. Granted, it's olive oil, so it's good fat, but it has a LOT of calories. You can buy 'light' wheat bread from Sara Lee that is only 45 cal/slice. Also, any whole grain choice is good. Portabello mushroom is great! My favorite is to use red pepper puree (Avjar, which you can get at the Mediterranean grocery) and light swiss, with some sauteed green peppers and onion. Killer-good. Either that, or portobello chunks with light swiss, red onion, and deli mustard is tasty. Are you vegetarian? If not, turkey and chicken are great lean protein low cal meats for your sammies.
  3. wheat is not that good for you neither. wheat is considered by bodybuilders impostors of healthy carbs. Make sure to make your bread WHOLE wheat / whole grain.
